Now as for what John saw, probably a B4 sedan, could even had a AAN in it. Still not likely an S2 sedan.  Badges can be bought.

That being said, there are at least one or two real RS2s in the USA, imported and federalized somehow.  

In Canada, we can start to import RS2s in March 2009. ABY S2s in August this year. (15 year rule).
