Without watching it again - I seem to recall some foreign voices by the
camera person. Presumable the pilot and his employer do not require the same
level of training that we expect in this country. It's a big, strange world
out there. It probably takes a lot of simulator hours and then plenty of
real-world experiences to always be confident that you are in control of
such a aircraft in that situation. I imagine there's the unsaid corporate
pressure not to divert and not to be late but that shouldn't unduly
influence a seasoned pilot.
