Paul,

so the //S8 is running 340 HP on a High octane day, and the Z06 is ~ 505
HP..
hardly a POS.

I would have thought the Vette Should have walked away.. man, GREAT
story!

All I can say is that dub was a crappy driver or..he doesn't follow the
Mullane theorem

" Never Let Off Until the Bitter End"
{Luv that Tom! }

(now don't puff up any more about this)

you're driving skill, anticipation and nerve clearly exceeded what he
had.

Dub learned the old axiom, Old Guys Rule!

well, er, you're NOT an old guy yet.. that'll change round about
Teenage years..

Twin girls, OMG. plus Tyler.. @ //S Fest.. imagine that

Morning Germs-

Funny encounter commuting home last evening. Thick but moving traffic

nearing my hometown, cruising innocently in left lane @ 71 maybe, go by

a blue Mk1 Z06 coupe in middle lane that's just trodding along. Good

looking car, I dig them and that color personally.

Soon as I'm next to him I see the window go down, and a kid (looks like

Brian Weldon for some reason) start making all these goofy 'what up

homey' type faces and gestures at me - then proceeds to revrev drop gear

and start surging. HA! *Where* we going here exactly, we're all pretty

jammed up 4 lanes wide, I wonder. Genius.

I let him blast in front of me, we cruise a few miles. Funniest is I'm

on the phone at this time with Chris Hawkins chatting about all the

madmadmodz he's done and will be doing to me old beast. I see traffic

dissipate ahead and inform Chris - "um - sorry I'm gonna have to get

back to you as I'm about to lay the smack down with this Z06" - sorry

Chris.

He stomps and snaps a downshift way before I get to 3rd and he's off but

I'm keeping him 'there' ahead. Car clogs him, I approach, car moves

aside this time I'm ready for the poofboomsquat ahead. 4th gear @ 100

cruise with a perfectly timed stomp. POS's them things are, I'm able to

time my WOTstomp very easily as the thing - rolling @ 100 mind you -

does this funky squat / twist / step-to-the-left in front of me as he

drops a gear. HA! Sweet refinement / engineering there not.

Game time. Through 4th he's pulling a length or 2 but I'm still

'there', into the middle areas of 5th he's not pulling and I'm not

gaining. His sack shrivels and I go by him. I lift, and wait. And

wait. He's now @ 65, back into middle lane - then over to the slow lane

and now will not come ANYWHERE near me.

HA! Humbled by a Luxobarge... I'm guessing he bet on wailing on me

significantly harder than that.

I exited with a quick up-thumb out me window, which he actually returned

- sheepish grins on both of us. Good stuff.

Unrelated, last week I went by a neuZ06 on my way home, again in slow

lane and doing like 58. Silver. As I went by him then gazed at in me

mirror - gotsta say... that thing looks downright frickinfabutastic on

the road it does! Veryvery sinister looking car, great stance. I've

yet to whirl either a Mk1 or 2, really would like either opp some day

butofchoorse - verymuch looking forward to that I am.

An now for something, completely different: a man with 3 buttocks. I

installed new OE front Brembo rotors last night with Ferodo DS2500 pads.

OMG pedal feel and brake action is absurdicle. Yeahbaby yeah. Gotta

love brake installs that take longer to jack up and remove wheels than

does the brake job. In and up and down and out in < 30, sweet.
