I am still confused as to if there was indeed an S4 Avant produced by Audi
and if it was euro only or available in the USA (or not)?

If so, I'm guessing from my experience with my S6 ('95) that the parts for
an A4 just won't work (yeah, I wish that a new bumper for an '95 A6 would
fit the old S6 jalopy, but it just ain't so).

My experience will all sorts of other parts would be a hint to the original
poster - Mike - that he's SOL using A4 parts for an S4. But that conclusion
is only based upon my S6 experience, and plenty o parts do cross over. It's
figuring out which ones. . . . A lotta $$ to be saved a Colorado junkyards
if you unlock that puzzle.
