[s-cars] NAC: E36 autos?

AFAIK they hold up fine.  The only good thing about them (IMO) is that 
they can be had way cheaper than the 5 speed.  Even several thousand 
dollars would not change my mind when I got one though.  Great car but 
watch that ass.  It'll step on on you if its even a little greasy.

I would cruise some of the million BMW forums.  Like AW you have to sift 
through the "yo yo yo's" and "s'ups" but you should be able to search 
and find some good info.  I lurked on the Disco list for a bit when my 
wife wanted one badly - didn't buy one due to the horror stories.  I 
also watched the B5 S4 list for a long time -  did buy one despite some 
of the stories.

If you're into 18 year olds you may want to get an insurance quote 
too.   ;-)
