a quick way to check whether the wheels are square to each other is to take diagonal measurements.  measure between points on the suspension (left front to right rear, and right front to left rear) and verify that the diagonal measurements are within .1" of each other.

you can do a decent check of the camber with a level.  electronic level is very easy - just place flat across the rim.  if it's a traditional bubble level, place one end against the rim, hold it vertical, and measure the distance from the other end of the level to the rim.   trigonometry will get you the camber in degrees.  or you can just repeat the measurement on the other side, and compare to see if they are actually off.

Rear camber is adjusted by the rear camber links. Often, these are seized
and are hard to adjust. I would take a look at these first.

When you say the one side of wheels sit further in, do you mean tilted or
the whole thing? If it's the whole thing, then perhaps the subframe is not
aligned. The only reason for this would be mounts that are totally shot, or
maybe the subframe is damaged or bent.
