Thanks to Sean's post last fall or summer, I (armed with the part numbers that the dealer could not find) bought the last remaining set available in platinum for my S6.  The fronts came from one warehouse and the rears from a different warehouse so it took a few weeks to get them, but as I remember it, I paid in the area of 140 Canadian not so great back then dollars for the set four mats.
It's one of those things; if someone really wants them then they will be willing to pay to get them.   In my case, when I bought the car in Aug '05 the mats were not there, so I went without until last year.

This storage room has been producing some amazing products for the
marketplace.  I doubt the Rossatobin could produce this variety of  
coveted
parts.  :-)

The ecru mats were not found in the dealers parts list back in 2004,  
but Sean
Douglas provided a new number that found a stock in the JAX warehouse
just gathering dust, so I have a new set I just installed last year.   
The price
was $62.67 less audi club 10% discount.  The S4 guys complained that  
this
ecru for the A6/S6 did not match the earlier S4 shade. and apparently  
some
turned their noses up at the offering.

I would suspect that nice set would fetch twice the original price  
since they
are unobtanium otherwise, and satisfactory aftermarket replacements are
difficult to find.
