Harold-this sucks.  Have you thought of trying to find the rare B5
Passat 1.8t 4M Variant with 5-speed manual (this car is a mod monster
heh heh)?  Or the B5 Passat W8 4M Variant with 6-speed manual?  Just
throwin' some ideas out there for ya.

Sorry to hear of your predicament, that sucks. Could you not get around
it by registering it in a different state?

You sure like the rare colors, I've never seen a europa blue sedan (only
an
avant) and one cashmere sedan in the last 5 years. Personally, I would
never "downgrade" to a A4 or VW. They are nice cars, but too small and
too common.
When it comes time for replacement for me, it would be a D2 S8 (2001+
facelift) or maybe a C5 S6 Avant. I know both are automatic, but they
both have a touch of classic styling without being too "new".
