Dave,

Guys looking for electrical terminals can find them at http://
www.eagleday.com/
These connectors are AMP junior power timer 3 pin connectors, but the
housings
are cheaper at the dealer or salvage yard. I haven't had any problem
with brittle
housings and find the smallest jewelers screwdrivers work well as pin
removers.

This is the only source I have found for the individual pins. I find
the VWP-192175
terminal is a good match for the female, but the male pins do not
match those in
the Audi housings, and of course part numbers are useless. The
3-8060 terminals
from the Female and Male Blade Terminals section worked for me by
matching the
description to the OEM pin size.

This works great if you want to keep OEM connections and avoid the
extra splice
connections, but it is not cheap if you buy housings, so I would urge
caution on
removing the old pins. You should remind those doing this that the
female end
has retainer barbs on each side, but with the purple insert removed
from the
housing you can easily see one side and work on the opposite barb.
The flat
male pin only has one barb on the upper side (housing side with one
central
alignment ridge), so it is much easier to remove.

Just some notes I thought could be useful. Once you get the hang of
it, it's not
bad, unless you are trying to switch a POS channel on a cold, rainy
night on
the road. BTDT Present project is rewiring two complete coil sets
with no
splices.

Tom
