[s-cars] Now have turning signal problem

Today the problem morphed! The fuzzy buzzing has gone and turning signals
work though at double speed as if one bulb has blown but both are flashing.

Tonight a new problem with right turning signal started. When I lift the
stalk to turn right the IC starts buzzing (continuous fuzzy tone) instead of
indicator tone. No lights turn on front or back or on the IC. Left turn
works OK.
 
Occasionally everything works fine. Is this indicative of a failing stalk on
the column?
