[s-cars] Fuel rail - recall question

Paul,

I had a similar problem with one of my lines. My 95.5 has rubber
lines as opposed to the braided lines of the earlier cars. There was
a barbed end on the hard line under the swaged fitting on my car, I
trimmed off the fitting and stuck a couple of 25 cent hose clamps on it.

I believe on the later cars the rail and lines are sold together for
lots of cabbage. I don't have the FA handy but if these items are on
the throttle body side of the car by the rail I do not believe it was
part of the recall.

S-Heads,

Today was a car maintenance day for my S6 since it was going to be warm
(started out at 9 but got up to 35 so I could wash the car off and get
my snow tires on for the season). At the end of the day I changed the
oil and was cleaning things under the hood. I discovered when I put
sideways pressure on the fuel return line, it spouted some fuel - same
for the supply line. Hum, this doesn't seem god! I checked with ETKA.
These hoses are identified on FA illustration 133-73 - items #15 Fuel
Pipe and #31 Fuel Line- Return. Are these the items that were to have
been taken care of by the recall? How can I tell if my car has had this
service completed (aside from calling the dealer).

The ends of the hoses closest to the injectors are both a little loose.
They don't leak unless I put some pressure on them and it doesn't take
much. I haven't noticed them leaking at idle but I don't want to leave
this unrepaired. What's the best, quickest, and most economical way to
repair this?

As always - TIA,

Paul Dooley
