Rich,
I have torn my S6 driver's side apart several times. Once you do it a
couple of times, it goes pretty quick.
If you have determined that it is not the switch on the arm rest (swap
a known good switch in) then it is most likely the regulator. I am
writing while away from home and am working from memory. You can pull
the servo by removing three bolts. It can be bench tested with a 12V
power source.
When my window would go down but not up, I got a replacement servo
from Chris at Force 5 (http://www.force5auto.com/). While waiting for
it to come, I pushed the window all the way to the top and reinstalled
the broken servo to hold it there and then disconnected the switch so
I didn't accidentally lower it again until the new servo arrived.
When I get back to my main PC, I'll look to see if I have a write up
saved to disk.
