Sad to say, but the only two Autocross rated R-rubber tires are the Hoosier
A6 (which needs TONS of negative camber or they'll cord quite quickly) and
to a lesser degree the HankookZ214 (at least according to Grassroots
Motorsports) which are said to heat up quicker than the other R-compound
tires. In terms of performance, again according to GRM, they're all pretty
close, with the exception of the half breed ones, like the Yoko R032, the
Toyo Proxes T1R, etc. Otherwise, at near 40F temps they're going to take a
few laps to warm up, even with something as heavy as Miss Piggy. I've even
have some trouble getting heat into my now NLA Avon DOT-R's with the 3300 lb
Saabaru on a tight course on cool days.
