[s-cars] Cam Position Sensor replacment

Has anyone replaced the CPS lately?  My 93 needs to be done and I am wondering if it is necessary to zip tie the cam gear to the belt.  Looks to me like - just take off the belt cover, slide the belt off the gear, take the gear off, and replace the sensor.  If nothing is moved, seems it should all go back on by just putting the gear back without turning the cam shaft, then the belt.  Does anyone have anything to add to this?
