[s-cars] Suggestions on selling S6

I'm going to start looking for a Carrera 4, and keep the savings for the
engine/trans rebuild.

A very good friend called me about something the other day as he and his
wife were signing on trading their incredibly pristine 20,000 mile black on
black S8, in on a Lexus SUV. He got $13,000 for it. If he would have called
me earlier, I would have bought it for $16,000 cash. We both cried over a
beer later!

No call out, just some friendly advice! :-)

I guess if you find that one in a million buyer, then maybe you can get that
kind of money for the car. Realistically, if it's really clean (now I have
to go back and look for info on Charlie's car) and makes big power, good
compression/leakdown, no issues at all (that's the key- no issues at all,
not a few little ones or this and that), I'd estimate $9k tops.

But again, you really need to sell the car with zero issues. Anything to
detract from the asking price will be used against you.

Also, again, without looking back and checking the mileage, you'll have a
hard time selling a car with more than 100k, no matter what the car is,
except for a good turbodiesel in the 5 states where you can't buy a new one.

With the market the way it is, now I'm going to start looking at '80s
Carreras to replace the Miata. :-0

Time to buy the C6, Jeff!

BTW, I sold my STi to a wholesaler friend of mine because I didn't want to
deal with the hassle of having a million teenagers call you up for a test
drive when they can't afford the buy the car.
