[s-cars] Computer swap in Audi 100 2.8 AAH V6

I have a '93 100 Quattro w/automatic transmission with a Hitachi MMS201 ECM which is apparently bad. In my pile of parts I have a Hitachi MMS300 ECM which was removed from a '93 100 Q w/automatic transmission and has the correct connections for the incoming wire connectors and in checking the Bentley appears to have many of the same pin-outs as the MMS201. 
Will it work? For sure? My hunch is that the 300 is just smarter but the same otherwise. Hunch rendered after checking for differences shown in Bentley.
