[s-cars] Has anyone replaced fogs with HID pencil beams??

I'll echo Larry's comments regarding the Micro DEs.
I have a set on my '01 A4. The car has stock Xenon lamps, which
are about as good as the euro/TT upgrade on my son and wife's
cars.
The Hellas add a good amount of light in front and to the sides,
far superior to the stock under bumper mounted projector fogs on
the A4.
I'm just now adding a set to my '99 A6, again replacing the stock
under bumper mounted fogs.
I also got a set of the parabolic Hella driving lights, thinking
about mounting them inboard of the fogs on the A4. The 200s are
relatively small, and throw out an amazing amount of light.
For a C4 A6 or S6, I'd mount the fogs below the bumper and cut out
the lower grille. The lens on the Micro DE is small...it won't
need a big hole and it's pretty easy to mount. I think Don Warren
had a set of fogs mounted this way on his S6 avant.
HTH,
Lee
