[s-cars] Crank but no start on 95 A6

Howdy all,
    I know this is an A6 question, but wanted to canvas the list to see if
any of you have any idea on this one.

My wife's 95 A6 wagon has developed this wierd problem where sometimes when
she goes to start it in the morning, the car will just turn over but never
catch.... we'll shift into neutral, roll the wagon down the driveway 5 feet,
and then try to start and it starts just fine.. The problem happens
regardless of grade, regardless of temperature, but I find it happens less
often when there is at least a half tank of gas in the car.

The car drives just fine once its started, no issues at all. It doesn't
happen everyday. Sometimes after work, it'll happen as well, but a lot less
often... any suggestion on things to check?
