All credit so noted for your correction on AW - it was the right thing to do I believe passion to be what you make of it - at any age and circumstances. I dare say with two daughters less than a year from college - I look forward to the challeng of my own mantra.

I claim no panties can be in a bunch if you are standing arms akinbo - commando

Scott,

I'm not here to get into a pissing match with you, but I'm neither youthful, inexperienced (with the exception of a direct comparison to your long resume of urq presence maybe), nor "poor" for that matter. Maybe I should have used the term "otherwise financially obligated". I'm almost 40, have a wife, 2 kids in private school, run my own business, etc, but that's not what's important, nor was it my point.

If the seller had seen it for what it was, and not taken it as a judgemental attack on his car,and more of a wishing I could see, though better pics hosted on the web as opposed to what CL gives for free, what kind of shape the car was in, instead of bugging the seller to send them to me, then maybe the outcome would have been different. It obviously did not go as planned, so I heeded your advice and deleted my post. Maybe I'm not entrenched in the urq circles as you are, but my "tangential" opinion was just that, tangential.

I sat right there with you, Bob, Eric, and about 10 other people and ate sushi and yukked it up that last night of MH99. As it were, I've shared plenty of laughter and stories, from my "youthfully inexperienced' days as a new owner in 1993, to the present on these very lists. I've also loved reading yours and everyone else's banter back and forth with Phil, Bill, Bart, Bob, and the many others that used to frequent the mother list before the baby lists were spawned. Sadly those days have long since passed, and there's a lot more activity on the various model-specific forums on AW than on these lists. The quality of such notwithstanding.

Have a great one.

As such when I see him take the time to post a respone on AW objecting to your tangential opinion - it puts *you* in the hot seat. And it's because of your youth and inexperience - no offense intended.

No trailer for the first year - used tires and a countrry squire woody wagon as service, 6 crew in one sleezy hotel room. Prior to that I worked dozens of prorallies - even teching Buffums first urq and millens insane 4wd rx7. I wouldn't wish it any differently today - some 30years later

I focus my passion to quattro on how the pilot learns the limits of his quattro machine. Road, dirt, water, ice - drive it! Fine examples are not excluded. Especially in the negative beta cooeficient world of audi quattro investment.

If I could afford it i'd have one to drive and one to time-capsule away. Unfortunately i'm kid and life poor right now, so i've got neither. Unless its politics I don't usually stir the pot, but I am one to defend a point if I believe in it. I did finally delete the post two days ago.

I was actually more surprised at your CL commentary in relation to a guy trying to sell a car.? More surprised you refused to delete it.? It could be better over there, but it starts with understanding what you can do to make it better over there.?

I say go offroad, add yellow paint and wipers, whatever it is that makes you smile that you bought it.? That's what makes an enthusiast.? Purists and investors don't drive cars they own therm.? I think it's awesome the guy wants to drive it hard.? Cuz, he bought it and he can!? I hope he comes to Steamboat with it too!
