FWIW, YMMV, IIRC & it's usually something stupid..uhmmm

Dunno what exactly your problem is (I mean who does?;) but from what I know
about these remote operations, a lot of it could fall under the heading
"Mystery of Science."  

That said, please be sure to try disconnecting the battery and start over
with programming the key fob.  I tripped into his miracle for my wifes A8
after myself and the stealer too gave up trying to program the key.  They
were then asking some $8billion for a new controller, keys etc.   . right!
Anyhoo I had disconnected the battery chasing a Nav plus problem (which I
have yet to solve) and shortly thereafter realized that the remote was
suddenly operational.

I might add that I got tired of changing batteries for the redpig as, the
remote does work AFAIK, I just use the key and then kick myself with gas
pump nozzle in hand when I realize that the gas cap is locked behind it's
door since I failed to open ALL doors by using only one turn of the door
key.
