Bill,

I had a very similar hood kink - not quite as bad as yours.  My wrench 
and I figured by the time he adds up the labor to R&R that little dent, 
we could replace with new and be better off in the long run.  I think 
the hood itself was about $450 plus paint and labor.

But I didn't get my dent from an SUV backing into me.  I got mine when 
an SUV stopped in the right turn only lane when the light was GREEN!  
Just looked up at the green light and when I looked back down it was to 
late - I tapped their bumper breaking my light and just touching the 
hood.  Ended up OK through insurance but how stops at a green light anyway!
