George -
I recently had a "dead skip" that wasn't really detectable unless the engine was loaded at low engine speeds. Wasn't as noticeable at high engine speed. Problem was #2 fuel injector. It was either shorted out or was plugged, I didn't investigate further. It could be spark plugs in your case but I doubt it. Mine looked good at 40 K miles. I replaced them anyway.
Best regards,
David

Thanks for replys, plugs could certainly be changed as they have probably 40000
on them. However I pulled the codes this morning and found that 4411, 4412,
4413,4414,4421 (Blink Fault Code), 01249 VAG1551/2 Fault Code Number
Fuel Injector
for Cylinder 1, (N30)
Open or short circuit, +12V supply circuit breaker or fuse open
Symptom: Engine
runs rough or stalls
What does this mean ? The car runs so fuel injectors must be working to some
extent? Where should I look for a short ? Is there a common ground for the
injectors? Many Thanks, George
