 If your engine has 260k miles on it, I wouldn't say it's wise to ignore the bottom end and just start pushing more air through it.? This will only expedite its failure, which can't be too far away even if left stock.

Thank you all for your feedback on my proposed project.

General consensus seems to be to focus on turbo/plumbing and forego  
the rebuild of the bottom end at the moment.

I appreciate the time and feedback, knowing how much experience there  
is on this list saves me a lot of trouble and potentially money too!!
