That bolt is torqued to some serious Nm. Might be a bit tough to loosen w/o it on the ground for resistance.

Subject: [s-cars] Front Hub Bolt questions

Hey guys,

In the middle of trying to remove the front axle for a CV boot replacement, and I need a socket for the front hub bolt......what size is it? Also, how important is it to remove and tighten this bolt with the wheels on the ground? The Bentley manual I have for the 200 (I don't have one for my S) says that the wheels must be on the ground......since I was r&ring the front brakes when I started this project, my front end is up and no wheels are on the ground. Do I need to put things back together, then loosen?

Thanks!

Jim
