low
beams. They only come on when the low beams are on; if you switch to =
high
beam the front fogs go off. I assume this is to prevent one from having =
fogs
on simultaneously with the high beams - the back-scatter from high beams =
in
fog is blinding, so you typically don't use them in fog anyway.
If you are looking for a switched power source, I've used terminal 15 in =
the
Central Electrical Panel (under the dash, drivers side) in the past for
switched power on a UrS4. It's likely the same on a UrS6 - you'd have to
verify that.
The LEDs are interesting. I modified my S6 headlights to take TT HIDs =
and
have been running them as DRLs. Using LEDs as DRLs would probably =
increase
the life of the HID system. Food for thought anyway. Thanks for the =
link.

Subject: [s-cars] 12V source for driving lights?

Having a Canadian spec. S6, I have fog lights that are only enabled when =
the
headlights are turned on (not sure if this is the same for the US =
version).

=20

My current project is to add LED DRLs (just bought the JOM LED pack from =
ECS
http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C4_S6-Quattro-20v_T/Lighting/LED/ES1832854/=
)
and have disconnected the current DRL wiring from the headlamps for the =
LEDs
(note DRLs will go off when headlights are switched on).

=20

What I now need is an independent 12V source that goes on/off with =
ignition
so I don't inadvertently drain the battery. Can the learned list advise =
of
the most suitable location to wire to the front and rear fog lamps =
(note, I
will be wiring the front and rear fogs independently).

Thanks,

Tony
