I stands corrected... I used Bosch platinums (not the same PN) in my 7A and I don't remember them having a pointed tip.  Carry on...

Except for the F5DP0R (and probably a lot of other platinum plugs), which
has a pointy tip, even when new.  Search any worldpac site or autohausaz
for F5DP0R to see a picture.

Jim, let us know how the NGK's turn out.
