[s-cars] Teen car

The bigger N-A Volvos are pretty damn slow, that's for sure.
I also advocate MT for new drivers, because then they have to pay
attention to the car, at least some of the time.
But I can drive around in my Audis all day long and still talk on my
cell. I've been able to drive a MT car one-handed since I learned how
to drive. I don't, generally (especially with the kids in the car to
see the bad example), but the physical skill required is trivial.
Either hand on the cell, BTW.
For a girl who is going to be driving around in inclement weather, a
B5 sedan with the 2.8L and a 5-gang. Cheap, gets around on snow
without a problem, and hard to use the back seat as a bedroom.
