Cory,

If you hear air escaping --- YOU HAVE A LEAK!  Period.  You simply 
must find it and fix it or the car won't run worth crap until you 
do.  Yeah, finding a leak isn't glamorous but you simply have to do 
it or you're just pissing into the wind.
