[s-cars] suspension part list

Haven't we had this conversation before? Another place and time, I
suppose.
It goes something like this: I believe the $11 or $12 stuff is
branded FEQ which
stands for first equipment quality. If you truly believe you can buy
a Chinese
made part for 1/4 the genuine Audi part price at genuineaudivwparts.com
I am wasting my time with this discussion. The Audi part has been
discounted
from the list price you pay at most dealers by 1/3 for web sales.
But, I am not saying only buy the Audi parts because it is not
necessary much
of the time.
You will still pay a premium for the genuine Audi part over a
recognized and
trusted brand aftermarket part. Most of these suspension parts are
made by
TRW, Febi, Sachs-Boge, Bilstein, Koni, FAG, SKF, and GKN-Loebro to name
a few. Outside the trusted group, you have to do your own due
diligence and
investigate the quality of the product.
I understand that is the reason you are asking here besides hardly being
able to believe your good fortune at finding things so cheaply. You
also
probably don't know who made the part that Adirondack is selling. Maybe
you should ask. They are an honest dealer and will gladly discuss part
make and quality.
I don't have a lot of experience with FEQ but I have some with them and
Meyle for suspension parts, and I think the quality of bushing
material for
both is crap. Since you generally spend more in labor (even if your
own)
than parts for suspension replacement, I think this is a big deal,
because I only
want to do this stuff about once every 100K miles or so.
