Oh, no! The 18 year old came in early last week complaining about the same
thing...the sunroof had suddenly opened on him. It closed, but then opened
again 15 minutes later. Kinda freaked him out. Nothing since then.

Subject: [s-cars] another mystery - phantom sunroof
Evidently a wet foot wasn't enough...
This morning went to start and warm up the Mrs' Green/Ecru wagon.
Who btw is already late for work..
ggrrrr grrrr grrrrr click click....
Argh, got the portable battery pack to jump the car, and of course the
alligator clips wont fit over the jump post....
Pull the rear seat, pull the battery, swap in another, go to start the car.
And the sunroof is open.
And doesn't appear to want to close. Eventually got it to close after a few
attempts.
No weird grinding or other noise.
Mrs complained last week that it had opened unexpectedly.
I checked the audiworld archives which seem to come to two conclusions:
a- dirty contacts on the sunroof switch
b- dying/dead battery causes sunroof to automagically open.
I'm wondering if there's a c-
short/failing sunroof switch or motor drain the battery and lead to this
behavior.
Before I pull the power connector to the sunroof motor (since it shares
other devices on the same circuit) , any advice?
