[s-cars] Passat 1.8T with more than coil problems

Wife's '05  Passat 1.8 has a recall on coils. This may cover the '02.

My friend's 2002 Passat 1.8T 4-mo 5 sp seems to be eating coils. 

He had #2 blow, replaced. 

Now #3, replaced. 

Now another. 

Any ideas?
