Ditto.

Wire bundle on passenger side of the tailgate.  Wiggle it around a little
and I'll bet it turns off. (or not)

Investigate and please report back which wire/ wires control this and we'll
all know which ones to replace.

It's been too cold here to even consider extra opening and closings of the
hatch.

I think my washer used to work about, oh a million years ago.   Back of the
car takes a lot of abuse.
