Right on, Dave.  You also want to clear the codes after recording  
them, so you will know if the fault reappears.

There have been no reports of a CPS code being erroneous, so the  
presence of that code means absolutely something.  I wonder how many  
of the
failure to record codes incidents happened on socketed/chipped ECU's?
