these wheels are 17x7.5 with 225 tires mounted on'em, I guess I could always run some spacers ;)

it depends upon the width of wheel and tire you seek, but you're moving the wheel/tire about 1/4" closer to the center line of the car. I'd check the clearance between the inside of your front tire and the lower spring perch to see if you can really give up that 1/4".
