[s-cars] Just cut out and died.

Strange, theoretically speaking it should only retart the timing... When
it happened to me, the check engine light would come on while driving,
if I shut the car off, it became increasingly difficult to start until
one day it would not and I had to replace the CPS, but it never died
while running... I guess if it retards the timing enough it could cause
rough running?
Oh well, YMMV!
Cheers, /Jamu.

Well, James, replacing the ailing CPS totally eliminated the dieing
while running problem on my S6. I know the popular belief is that it
shouldn't but it did.
