[s-cars] Radio Code for Concert I - really necessary, or overratted

No this is only related to the Concert I radio - everything else is just
fine, and disconnects don't typically magically heal in several seconds
by recycling the on/off knob. And it does have a "K" line installed,
Vag-com doesn't see anything wrong, and it is correctly identified for
Bose in Vag-Com.

That's the way the radios work if you are running on battery
power...Auto shut off after an hour.? I understand that your car is
running when this occurs but there is likely a connection - or
disconnection in your case.? Perhaps your radio is thinking the ignition
is not on.? Ignition switch issue maybe?

Speakin' of radio codes, I've been meaning to ask is anyone else with a
Concert 1 and phatbox conversion ever has the kind of behaviour my
system exhibits; turn it on, works great for about 1 hour, at which time
it turns itself off. Lights stay on, but nobody home... As a reminder
that you've been driving for an hour, its a great feature. If you're
right at that critical moment in a new story, crescendo moment of a
momentous song, not so good.

Cycle the Concert I HU on/off with a few seconds rest and all is well
again for about another hour; repeat behaviour. I'm thinking it might
be the lack of security code (HU bought used, no code, none needed to
turn it on), but then again, I don't have much detail about the Concert
I decks.

Anyone want to chime in with actual knowledge? Btw, in my case, I did
not need to modify the underhood radio relay as the write up for
Phat-box suggests may be necessary if that makes any difference.

Thanks

-Randy
