[s-cars] Climate control acting strange

Maloney is playing jeopardy-fills in the blanks with little  
information from the
sender, and answers fast with best guess.  A symptom of the problem of
listers asking for a solution without giving any basic information.

You are correct that the ignition switch failure gives other symptoms  
with all
the c/c functions inoperative.  The power windows and sunroof,  
headlights,
etc, are all things to suggest you don't want to go motoring yet.  The  
failure
of the key to spring back from the start position is the real clue,  
which you
can remedy for the moment by manually helping the key back to run  
position.
My key just quit with no prior symptoms, just would not operate  
starter.  Yes,
push to start worked fine, just very inconvenient in mall parking lot.

The Meyle as a spare only insures you will get to do the switch  
replacement
twice, probably in short order.
