[s-cars] Temp and Fuel Gauge not functioning after battery charge

Hi Guys,

 

Looking for some advice (googled-out).. my 96 had been sitting for a while,
resulting in a dead battery (revenge I am sure).  In my not-so-expanded
mechanical wisdom, I put the battery charger on it and after likely too many
hours and probably too many amps it started but I now have no temp or fuel
gauge reading.  Everything else seems okay, but I do have the trip odometer
reading: "def".  The book says, call your dealer, yeah right! (they really
need to re-write the books)
