[s-cars] Dash switch bulbs

Michael McGovern mike_mcgovern at yahoo.com

When the key is in the off position, and the lights are on, the rear window
defogger switch remains lit, while the others are off. Turn the key to on
position and shut the lights off and the reverse happens. Could a German
engineer accidentally reverse the keyed power with the regular power to the
bulb? Its strange that this is the only switch that does this, and has no
relationship to the headlights (ie fog light switch).

No guarantee it's the same as mine, but... All of the switch symbols in
that area light up with the ignition on, EXCEPT for the rear window defogger

symbol which lights up when the headlights are turned on. There must be
some good, sound German logic for this, right?

Developed a misfire under heavy acceleration or loading up boost climbing a
hill. If I recall from 6 years or so ago. My old S6 avant did the same thing
and it turned out to be the plug connectors. Sound correct? PO of this car
already replaced coil packs # 1 &5 about 4 months ago. All was fine until
today.
Thanks

If they replaced 1 and 5 that may mean the others are not far behind.

Hi guys,

long time quattro lister, but new to s-cars. My recently purchased UrS4
Avant has tie-down points in the boot (trunk), did Audi supply a cargo
net, or straps of some sort to suit this? Anybody got pics?

Cheers
Duncan

Not sure about the UrS cars, but the newer cars came with elastic nets, and
some with even more substantial tie-down nets with a bar and slide
straps.... Can be had on ebay easily

Duncan-

Yes, my 95.5 Avant came with one, a standard cargo net. I still use it.

If I remember correctly, looks like the one in the newer A6 Avant my buddy
has

I did this:
sold my 1.8T coil kit to someone looking for a quick fix for their blown OEM
system for $200
then bought Marc's kit.
Car seems to run MUCH better.
And when I pop the hood people go 'WTF IS THAT!?'
and I tell them they're Corvette coils... which always gets a nice 'whoa.'

Could someone send me their recent photos of the mounting bracket for the
Corvette coils.

Thanks,

Jerry,

Here are pics of my install using a bracket I designed/made, it currently
hangs from the
strut tie bar but I plan on bolting it to the firewall using the OEM
bracket's bolts.

Here is Marc Swanson's kit ( EFIexpress.com )
