Mike,
sounds to me like you cut the speed sensor wires instead of the pad sensor wires.
I recommend you get out your trusty soldering iron and reconnect the wires.
The speed sensors are at each wheel and measure the speed of each wheel
in order to sense when some are locked up and others are turning.
