[s-cars] frogs and other lights

I didn't post a reply because Bob and I have chatted on this before (this is
a refertilization of a thread from a few months ago), and he's got my input
and I assume he wants to see if there's any more experience or BTDT (which
I'd like to know as well). But just to set the record straight for others:
1 - there's no easy relay jumper magic for S6's (S4's yes... S6's no)
2 - yes there is a relay but it's only for high-beam-CUTOUT of the fogs -
NOT a turn-on-power relay
That said the rest of my answer last time was more or less (probably
less...):
3 - doing a full-time hot wire from one of the power buss connections behind
the knee panel is probably the easiest solution but doesn't get parking
light integration
4 - for a parking-light-switch integration, IMO the only feasible route I
see is to put in your own relays driven by the headlight switch, which would
then trigger power to the OEM fog switches. you almost certainly do NOT want
to run the full load of fogs & parking lights through the parking light
switch, hence a relay being necessary rather than just sending the existing
parking voltage up to the fog switches. not super easy, but I reiterate -
there is no real fog relay now so it's not a matter of just switching that
to another circuit like people think. if you wanted to be super slick you
could use some of the empty OEM relay sockets to house your relays, which
would lend to a tidy slick install. minor data point - power goes first to
the rear fog switch, and then cascades over to the front fogs, so
technically you need to send power to the rear switch...
5 - for extra credit, THEN if you want to REALLY relay the fogs (aka not
send all the fog light amperage through the switches) that would be an
entirely 'nother set of relays up at the lamps themselves... fun with
relays!
I am on Bob's page - I'd like to have the parking integration, but I think
it's going to be a pain so my warm-weather project plan is to go hot wire
(well, not full 'not' but load-reduction circuit hot).
