[s-cars] Are you happy w/your S6?

Although I've never own nor driven one, I did a little research about 4 years ago on the same vehicle S4/S6 and if memory serves me well, the 93 models' driver-side, inner fender to where the steering rack attaches was susceptible to cracking/tearing. A somewhat similar issue plaguing 4KQs' and QSWs' fire walls to where the clutch master cylinders attach. Weak firewall that over time become very prone to cracking/tearing, thus, the invention of a bracket made by 034motorsport.com to prevent it.

Again, if memory serves me well, Audi, recognizing such weak point in the S4/S6 chassis, beefed up that inner fender to prevent cracking/tearing in later models.

So, when looking at one of those Audi models, the research pointed out looking at that area in the car to spot any potential trouble. The research added that owners of the earlier models are adviced to have an auto body shop beef up that area, noting that such preventive maintenance could be costly, specially if that area is already torn.
