Gentz,

I'm working on finishing the GM aka Delphi D585 coil conversion on my S6.

Here are some facts about this option.

1. I have a source for genuine Delphi coils (not chinese) for $15 ea, and if one fails on you in the middle of nowhere they can be purchased at any local autoparts store (autozone, advanced, napa, etc.) or grabbed at a junkyard. I personally have a spare to keep in my car.

2. The coils are being used in numerous applications due to their power and reliability. Google Delphi D585

3. You can find a "pigtail" (plug with wires) on Ebay for the coils

4. Mark Swanson can supply the 034 spark plug wires

5. By using the 1.8t wiring diagram you can build a wiring harness

6. If you want you can buy the D585 coils, wiring harness and basic bracket from Mark Swanson.

Here are pics of my installation bracket I built.

There is alot of info on Audiworld about this option.
