I had this exact problem today. Little hotter than your average March day.....~78dF...car had been idling and temp gauge was at 2nd line..but nothing crazy. Noticed hesitation pulling onto 4-lane under light throttle that recurred twice or 3 times on the drive home. Pulled codes tonight and got 2212.. For the throttle pot.
Not sure if that's an old code so i'll clear them tonight and monitor it tomorrow.
I should be slapped but I noticed today that i've gone 50K on this set of plugs! I bought the car in Nov 06 and have never changed them. Tsk tsk I know.

true. i left out one tidbit: after a long steep uphill grade in 1st/2nd gear that caused the coolant temperature to rise (but not into the danger zone), the engine was misfiring badly.
that might not be related to this power dropoff, though. it might be a knock sensor problem, all right, but not the fault of the knock sensor. after all, we get only 91 octane out here. :(

Also possible knock sensor problem, Teddy. That's how the ECU
handles a signal from a knock sensor. It instantly dials back the
timing advance and power drops briefly.
