[s-cars] Cruise control failure

I tried to enlist some direction from the B5 A4 girls on AW, and got
pretty much what I expected.

Anyway, my cruise control quit the other day with no warning.  I know
some of you are A4 gurus also, so any BTDTs?

AW search is down, Audifans knowledgebase is not up yet, so I'm hoping
one of you can give me some direction of where to start.

I've heard that a cleaning of the column switch helps.  Ideas?  TIA
