[s-cars] Trunk issues a e-brkae cables. (UNCLASSIFIED)

I recently discovered that my trunk can only be opened if I maintain
pressure on the button and lift at the same time, there is no longer any
"springyness" to the release mechanism.  Is there any way to restore that
bounce so that I can operate my trunk with one hand again? At first I
thought my trunk had frozen shut, but then it did the same thing on a 65
degree day which is when I figured it out.  Your suggestions are welcome! 

My second issue is that I know it is about time to replace my e-brake
cables, and I was wondering about how long that will take and how much of a
pain it is to accomplish this.  Oh yeah, and what is a good source for
these?
