Threw this question up on QW the other day to no avail (clearly "which
wheels look best..." questions get more replies...) anybody have any
suggestions?
------------------
couple times the other day coming back down from mid-coast maine under heavy
throttle ramp-merge type situations my boost gauge alert went off, and it
looks like I was hitting a momentary peak of something like 1.6 gauge with
my gauge alarm bleeping in protest.
I have the gauge alarm set a hair above 1.5 and normally the peak boost is
rock-solid dependable at the exact point. this is the first time the alarm
has ever gone off.
I think the MIL/CEL flickered at the same time once when this happened. no
haven't pulled codes yet and I will do, but MIL/CEL is not on now.
any thoughts? I thought it the ECU wouldn't allow exceeding 1.5 without
upgrading the MAP with and having corresponding software, but perhaps I have
a malfunction.
oh yeah, patient details:
TAP-crap chip, cranked WG spring, Stromung.
runs perfect otherwise.
only thing new-ish is that I recently removed the MAF screens but the first
few days of WOT testing didn't trigger this behavior. I can't get it to
reproduce every time but occaisionally it recurs.
UPDATE: seems that maybe it will happen after every restart - i.e. if it
happens once I can't seem to get it to repeat. but next time I drive the
car it'll happen again...
thoughts from the gurus?
