In MA there is no DA present.
The 1st hearing is not typically a public affair.
Just you, a representative from the police and the clerk.
If there is an appeal (either you or the cop can appeal a loss)
Then it is in a public court.
There is it you, the cop who cited you and the judge, plus any other
people in court that day.
