huh?  there are 17x8 wheels out there, and some of them even come on audis (A6 4.2, A8, S6).  i wouldn't get an 18x8 unless i needed the 18" to clear some humongous brakes.  larger diameter = more unsprung weight.

I looking at getting new wheels soon. I'm leaning towards 17 inch but the
tire of choice Sumimoto HRZ IIIs only fit an 8" width wheel which isn't a
17" size.

Should I move up to 18 just to fit the tire of choice? What is ride like?
Recall I have Eibach and Bilstein setup, so concerned about the lower
profile. Also Ottawa roads ain't that great.
