[s-cars] Wheels: 17 vs 18

 I run 255/40/17s on 17x8 with a 38mm offset for summer.? Works great with no rubbing on my lowered car.? However, with a 255 and 38mm offset, I am at the absolute limit on clearance between the tire and the steering arm on the strut housing.

In the winter I run 235/45/17s on 17x8 with a 35mm offset... also works great.

The 235 with a 35mm offset fills the wheel arch in a more attractive fashion (outboard) than my 255 / 38mm combo.? I never thought 3mm would be that noticeable, but it is.

How far in can the offset go with 245 tires before fitment becomes issue? I
was planning on no more than 35, which is an additional 12mm inward.

My C6 AVUS wheels are 17x8, ET37.

S6+ wheels are the same, IIRC (maybe ET35)

OEM Boleros are 17x8 as well.
